The Student Organization Awards program is administered through the VCU Student Government Association. The ceremony is considered to be the premiere awards at VCU for student organizations.

Please encourage your student org to apply for these awards! Applications are currently open and will close on March 31, 2017.

If using Google Chrome

In the top-right corner of the browser window, select the Menu (computer) or More (mobile).
Select New Incognito Window (computer) or New incognito tab (mobile).
A new window will open with the Incognito icon .

From there, input the direct survey link (https://goo.gl/forms/d9Sn8xE5Xx3gZVwS2) and sign in with your VCU email address.

If using a Mac

Starting in the new version of Safari for Mac released with OS X Yosemite, Private Browsing is replaced with Private Mode and it allows you to open a private window from the top menu bar while keeping non-private windows open. To activate it, go to File > New Private Window.


 

Categories

Student Organization of the Year: Student organizations applying for this award should demonstrate success in organization development, leadership, service, and membership engagement. The winner of this award will receive $500 in their on-campus account.

Outstanding Student Organization Program: This award recognizes a student organization’s success for an individual program that enhanced the VCU community. The program described must have been completed between March 2, 2016 and March 1, 2017. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Advisor of the Year: This award recognizes an advisor that has shown dedication to their student organization over the past year. The successful advisor for this award should be an individual who has been committed to the organization and contributed to the organization’s success.

Diversity and Inclusion Award: This award recognizes a student organization’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and/or social justice through programming and initiatives. Programs and initiatives must have been completed between March 2, 2016 and March 1, 2017. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Most Improved Student Organization: This award recognizes a student organization that has demonstrated significant improvement in membership recruitment and retention, budget management, program planning, and leadership while following the mission and goals of their organization. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Outstanding Community Service Award: This award recognizes a student organization’s overall community service efforts for an ongoing program or a series of programs. Service must have been completed between March 2, 2015 and March 1, 2016. Please provide verification of service hours from each non-profit/service location with your application. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Outstanding Local Community Service: This award recognizes a student organization’s overall community service efforts in the *Richmond community for an ongoing program or a series of programs. Service must have been completed between March 2, 2016 to March 1, 2017. Please provide verification of service hours from each non-profit/service location with your application. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Outstanding New Student Organization: This award recognizes a new student group who has demonstrated significant success and development in following the mission and goals of their organization. Student organizations applying for this award must have started since July 1, 2016. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.

Student Organization Advocacy Award: This award recognizes a student organization for their contributions as an advocate for a specific social issue across campus or in the community. All contributions described must have been completed between March 2, 2016 and March 1, 2017. The winner of this award will receive $100 in their on-campus account.
